And the manual says...

Manual for the 9-2X says for the first 1,000 miles, do not exceed 4,000 RPMs. It does say not to drive at one constant engine or vehicle speed for a long time, either fast or slow.

Granted I thought Break-In was a thing of the past., my 9-2X saw highway traffic for it's first 500 miles, some slow in LA, some fast between LA and SF, so it got a definite range of speeds and RPM and speeds at RPM. For the next 500, I started to ramp up my RPMs even testing it to 6,900 once but I've not ever hit the limit or gone into the red, which triggers a fuel ignition cut out (is this that the injectors will not deliver gas or no spark?).

I'm at 950 now after seeing Paul Perry (9000 Aero and racing Sonett II on a trailer), and brothers, Don Young (Sonett II - being driven to the convention as we did in 1999 to Keystone!) and David Young (9000 Aero with dog Simba!) off for the first 50 miles of their drive to SOC. I'm sorry I can't be there this year especially since I had a nice Saab to drive up to it :-(.
