Took this from another post... Put it to action and solved the problem right away. Only a few days after doing what is described below but all seems well. The only thing I would add is that I put in new fuses.
--------------
Went to start car yesterday. Put key in ignition, but unable to turn, and warning tone sounded with error on display saying something like:
'Steering Lock Malfuntion, if continues, do not drive'
Tried several time, but unable to turn key to start car.
Rang AA, who arrived within 30 mins or so. New guy went through diagnoses laptop and pretty much thought it was a faulty module and I would have to be put on low loader (due to steering wheel locked) and taken to main dealer.
However he rang his helpdesk which is apprently manned by a load of 60 year old wise guru's who have been in the trade for eons. Guy says remove fuse 1 and 2, from fusebox on passenger side, for few seconds then reinsert them...
Job done...all reset, and able to start car. Well chuffed and the AA guy was happy too....
