Battery as a maintenance item Posted by don_young [Email] (#815) [Profile/Gallery] (more from don_young) on Mon, 9 Jan 2012 20:59:07 In Reply to: Fuel fluctuations, MI-Roger [Profile/Gallery] , Sun, 8 Jan 2012 14:06:37 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
On my 2006 9-3 SC, I've learned from other people's experiences on this BB to view batteries as a periodic maintenance item, freeing myself of any worries of being stranded. My first replacement was just prior to the drive from CA to CO for SOC'09. I proactively made the second replacement this past summer in the complete absence of any symptoms. Considering the risks of jumpstarting these cars and the costs (and now the availability) of fried ECUs, a fresh battery is cheaper insurance.
