2006 can use early or late Akebono rear pads

The early rear pads use butterfly spring clips on their back side which engage a machined groove in the rear caliper piston, the later pads omit these and use a different spring configuration extending from the top of the pad.

Our 2006 2.0T was built using the grooved pistons and the butterfly spring clips work well. The early rear pads are the EUR973 number whereas the later style rear pads are the EUR1095.

Get a caliper piston retractor tool as you will need it for the rears.
