not a simple fix

the steering column lock has failed as has the control module (though not told specifically which module) looks like about a grand to replace the two items. Have to get one part from North Carolina and the other from Florida so it will be a few days til we are back on the road.

I would be perfectly happy to have the whole locking mechanism disabled / bypassed, way to much vulnerable technology to fail especially in the future when parts may be even harder to come by. Guess that was GM's/Saabs plan with over enginering the saab, planned obsolescence
