No direct experience, but since a dead cat is a very expensive device, I'll see the dealer or at least a good shop for a pro advice.
Now, as you may know, there is usually at least two O2 sensors on newer cars. The first one is for the engine ECU, to fine tune mixture. The second one is usually after the catalytic converter, and its role is to monitor the condition of the cat-conv.
By comparing O2 content before and after the catalytic converter, the ECU can speculate the condition of the cat-conv.
But a failed rear O2 sensor can send a false message about the condition of the catalytic converter. That's why I would seek professionnal advice, or, if you're handy, check for suspicious wiring or connectors for the rear O2. If all good, I would replace the rear sensor if price is right and job complexity is low.
Last bit of info : O2 sensors have long life, if no contaminants shorten it. Internal coolant leak (head gasket), usage of non O2-sensor safe RTV-silicone, oil consumption (worn engine) or too much gas caused by a dying coilpack can destroy an O2 sensor.
Good luck !
