Propshaft vibration : how to cure ? Posted by magalar [Email] (#1325) [Profile/Gallery] (more from magalar) on Mon, 18 May 2015 19:04:26 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Well, I thought I did everything correctly according to WIS, but I still feel a light driveshaft vibration.
What I did :
mark the relative position of the 2 bracket to the floorpan with fluo aerosol paint.
Build a "splint" out of 2x3 wood studs to transport and carry the 3 pieces driveshaft.
Repack the rear CV joint with fresh CV grease.
Torque to spec the 6 allen bolts with the gearbox in 1st, but I didn't mark the propshaft to Haldex flange position, so it can be anywhere.
The propshaft doesn't have any vertical play, the front CV joint is dry and tight, the 2 u-joints are not sticky nor worn excessively.
So, why do I feel that vibration after a WOT event ? What is the angle upward for the center section ? Is there any lateral adjustement I can do to minimize the vibration ?
Thanks in advance,
magalar
