failed. Few months later, no start condition with Transmission error light. ABS/TCS cured by changing the corroded rear wire harness.
Tech II scan revealed:
p0337 : CPS
p0725 engine speed circuit
p0700 transmission
Changing the CPS with a Bosch CPS cured the no start problem.
But the Transmission Error could not be cleared, the car was slugish (limp mode).
I got a cheap TCM off the auction site and replaced the original one (on the side of the battery).
The transmission error is gone now (for 3 days so far) and the tubo is alive and fast.
Had the transmission been damaged, the second TCM would have picked it by now.
Now the BIG question: How much time do I have before the SAAB software rejects my TCM Transplant ?
The indy mechanics who changed the CPS has no tools to program the VIN into the second TCM.
Can I send the original TCM to someone (here on saabnet) to program my VIN into it ?
Its a 2005 9-3 aero 2.0L 4 cylinders.
Thanks
AK
