Intermediate shaft bearing

Greetings everyone:
I have been hearing a squeak coming from the front end of ole Blue (03 9-3 Linear, 373k, 5 speed manual) and when i went to replace my passenger side wheel bearing i noticed something troubling. I call it the intermediate shaft bearing but it's where the front axle makes a slight turn in the middle of the car. I noticed the front plate screw was missing so the native part of me says put some grease in it and put the screw back in and hope for the best. Anyhow, i thought I'd ask since the bearing is only 33bucks and since I'd have the hub removed, how tough it is to separate the axle and slide the new bearing in? It looks like an absolutely terrible job, but then again, i have the feeling that bearing is shot (then again there could just be filth inside it making it squeek and maybe some wd would clean it out). Oh yea, if anyone knows the screw type that holds that together let me know and about how tough this job is, namely how and where to separate the right axle.
Best,
BenR
