Tech 2 + Physical Key + Remote + Rear Speaker + TPMS Posted by Justin VanAbrahams [Email] (#32) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Justin VanAbrahams) on Tue, 27 Dec 2016 09:36:43 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Monday while driving around I spotted a nice '08 9-3 Combi Aero sitting on a dealer's lot and for lack of anything better to do stopped to check it out. One thing lead to another, badda bing badda boom it's in my driveway.
The dealer only had one plastic key - and it's missing it's lock button (the microswitch is gone!) *and* its physical key, so that's an issue... there is no way to lock the car. A long time ago I was able to con AAA into making a pair of remotes for my CTS-V, and am wondering if anyone has gotten Saab keys from a modern smart key operation (Keysmart, etc.). Also, best way to get a physical key cut? I assume from the VIN, but who to call?
It seems the speaker in the driver's side rear door is out. Being a Bose system, I'm going to wager the speaker has a discrete amp attached to it and that's what's dead... sound plausible?
When I test drove the car, it said the LF tire was low... it was, so I pumped it up to 34lbs, restarted the car, and then it complained of TPMS failure. Oops. ;) I had my Autel connected to it, and the Autel shows pressures for the front two tires, but both rear tires show 0psi. I reset the TPMS module with the Autel, but the warning came back about 5 miles later. I assume this means the module is working, but that the rear two sensors are likely dead or damaged.
Finally, I'm about 30 minutes away from finally pulling the trigger on a clone Tech 2 - does anyone have a current best source/link for these?
Much thanks!
