Yes, for years I've always recommended a Saab as a first car for new drivers due to the suvivorability and it has borne fruit with a few. However, I'm not completely convinced that the 9-3's are in the same class as the 900 and 9K when it comes to crash worthiness.
I am going to assume that with this mileage that any issues you mentioned had probably been corrected under warranty. Tranny seems fine as mentioned. Actually I wish the wife's 99 drove as well.
Should I assume that a change to synthetic oil, new coolant and a new serp belt would be a good thing? And...will the red DI cassets, (which we have a few good ones), work on this model?
