The 2003 9-3SS models were the first cars to ever receive a 5-Star safety rating. So yes, crash worthiness is a key component of these cars.
The engine should ALWAYS see full synthetic oil. This is a GM/Opel engine that requires 0W/40 or 0W/30 oil. The car uses four independent coil on plug style (sort of) ignition modules and not the Red/Black four-in-one style used on the OG9-3 and 9-5 engines. Plugs are platinum as well. Coolant is Dex-Cool and should be changed every 3 or 4 years.
There is a problematic plastic Tee-fitting in the upper radiator hose that is prone to failure and NLA from quality sources. Replace with a machined aluminum Tee-fitting from Strictly Saab in Florida.
