Thanks MI-Roger, I've done the fuel pump on 9K's and hoped it would be accessible as same but I guess not. No idea about previous replacement but do have the PO's address in Conn. I'm going to send him a letter in hopes that he will respond with maintaince history.

Will a new sender/fuel pump most likely fix the display/fuel gauge at the same time or should I be also looking at some relay/fuse issues? Until we get it addressed, I'm just going to tell her to fill up every 200 mi. Odometer works.

The dealer price for the key included programming the new one. I had the display warning about low battery before replacing the battery but the new battery ( Duracell 2032) does not seem to change that.

The intermittent stability control warning is the least of my worries at this time. Just need to know if it would cause a breakdown or lockup. I assume it is a system that uses the brakes to improve traction or control a skid. Never had it actuate on other veichles and it get's kinda slippery around here in the winter. Of course, 4 studded Nokians help to eliminate that and this car will have 4 when the time comes.

Looks like I'll be back spending $$ at Europarts again. Haven't done much there over the last few years since the other 2 Saabs only get driven a bit in the summer. On nice days.

JD
