So this is what I found:
2006 9-3 Turbo Base model, 5-spd, C$3500 + tax
-missing right mirror glass
-headlights don't work
-right brakelight out
-moderate rust on sub frame
-heavily worn leather on driver's seat, in the typical place
-both rear quarter panels repainted, and not well (orange peel, runs). There is an accident reported in 2014 for the rear, with $2000 damage, but I don't even think this has anything to do with that, more likely the result of the next item
-heavy rust bubbling under the paint all around the right rear wheel arch
-smaller rust bubble under paint at bottom of front left wheel arch
-left underside air shield missing, middle one broken (are these easy to come by for this model?)
This is being sold by a used car dealer with a safety certificate, so I am assured the first three items will be made right before the vehicle is transferred, and if the sub frame rust is bad enough to be structurally unsafe, it will be replaced (as determined by them poking at it with a screwdriver and hammer).
-Airbag light with the X in the logo is on, but this may be just indicating the passenger seat is empty, can anyone confirm? This they also say will be fixed if it is an actual fault.
So is this a typical specimen for this age of car? I don't want to buy a bunch of problems, but I don't want to nit pick either. I haven't been in the used car market in forever.
Oh, and can you pull a trailer with one of these? I looked under the rear bumper and couldn't see where you might attached a trailer hitch.
