Sometimes when the SCL goes bad, it can go bad in an unlocked position and the driver never know about it because the car starts and drive just fine.
Rebooting the car can make the SCL wake up and decide to freeze in locked position. Maybe you can tap on the SCL while inserting the key and see if it wakes up one more time and stick in the unlocked position.
Otherwise it might have to be replaced.
