As Justin says, we need more info. There are about 200 different reasons for the same light to come on.
Technically, you can repair one reason one week and the next week, the same light is on for another reason.

The only way to battle that is to be as up front with the customer as you can and talk to them and explain until they have fully grasped what was done the first time and what is going on now.

It kind of sounds like they might not have explained enough or is very busy to have time enough.

I tend to spend too much time with the customer which sometimes hurt when you have several cars with problems and each car takes a long time to give up the secret.

Air injection problems (if that is what's going on) is troublesome in itself since you only have one shot at it per day to test since the car needs to be overnight cold (Southern CA at least) for the system to run its course.
When the engine is warm, it will not run again and you have to wait until the next day.
Knowing the fault code numbers from each visit would help a lot.
