Re: Our '06 has always lost coolant - Saabnet.com Bulletin Board
My '08 has had several leaks - first the expansion tank cap, then through the O-rings on the right side outlet (three of them) and then through the O-rings on the heater core quick disconnects. It's never been a fast leak - about 1/2 cup a month. It seems time related and not mileage related - it doesn't matter whether it goes a normal 1000 miles in a month or 2000 miles in a month - the warning comes on after a month. I think the heater core hose replacement may have finally fixed the issue. It's been almost two months without a warning - one week to go! A cooling system pressure tester has been invaluable. Pump it up, wait 30-60 minutes for a puddle on the ground. So far it's all been right side - no leaks on the left, though I am sure I'm going to have to do that nightmare thermostat job soon.
