Serpentine belt and pulley tensioner Posted by Gator Ray [Email] (#1044) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Gator Ray) on Fri, 22 Jun 2018 20:52:47 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
2008 with 80k miles on a 9-3 w/2.8 V-6. Seeking guidance on service for serpentine belt and tensioner/pulley. Belt looks good, but I'm most concerned with the pulley given its mileage. With a great deal of summer travel ahead, I'm not wanting to run the risk of either failing. One thing I'm curious about--would engine damage occur, or just a major and expensive inconvenience?
I'm unfamiliar with the 2.8 motor. If the water pump, thermostat, coolant temp sensor, etc., are accessible while "in there", would it make sense to replace these at this time?
Thanks for your advice!
