I think the biggest risk you have is stripping the torx fitting inside the bolt head and having to pound a larger size bit into the stripped fitting.
I have found a hammer type impact driver as often used on motorcyle screws to be an effective way to break things loose. The torx bit fits right in the head of the impact driver, and it's a handy tool to have around. The cost should be around $20 at Harbor freight or maybe Sears if they still carry this type of tool, and you can find one that isn't closed yet.
