Too bad you took the timing chain off when doing the balance chain tensioner since most of the time, you only need to replace the balance chain guide and tensioner and for that you don't need to touch the timing chain.
Did you loosen the camshaft sprockets as well? If not, it might be a slight chance you could figure out which tooth to hang the timing chain over with a lot of head scratching and learning where the cams should be versus pistons.
But the easiest would be to get the correct cam shaft tool for the 07 and up B207R engine and lock down the camshafts.
Even one tooth off will give you strange engine behaviors.
