Headlight "projectors"(?) frosty Posted by Ari [Email] (#2847) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Ari) on Wed, 27 Feb 2019 20:33:02 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
On my 2010 9/3 convertible with halogen headlights, the round enclosures into which the low beam bulbs are fitted (I think they're called projectors) are frosty, and it feels to me like the headlights aren't as effective as they once were.
I can't remember if they've always looked frosty; are they supposed to be clear? To be clear(!), what I'm talking about is, as you're looking at the headlight assembly from the front (as if the car were about to run you over), behind the outer clear plastic enclosure, there's a circular interior lens-like covering between the exterior plastic enclosure and the bulb. That bit. If it's not supposed to be frosty and semi-opaque, is there a way to clean it, or do I just have to replace the entire headlight assembly?
