Not fun with that surgery. I have been sticking my head in the sand for over a year after I tore something in right shoulder at my last skydive making it almost impossible to open the chute.
Reading about 6 month recovery and that I still can work sort of ok, makes me aim toward that I can survive until retirement and deal with it at that time.
Tech 2 will only "guide" you in the right direction. There is still no tool out there that, "can't you hook up the machine that tells you what's wrong" type of deal.
In some solid cases, the code might guide you toward the ISM, SCL or CIM but not all the time.
Here is a clear cut case where the ABS/ESP module is bad on a 2006 9-3 V6.
Not much pointing toward a bad ABS module and many mechanics have replaced the CIM module instead. It doesn't help that the problem is extremely intermittent in the beginning and it might be month and month between each occurrence.
