Sorry to add another post to this already long thread re 2008 9-3 Aero
throwing code P0089. Today my shop removed and painstakingly replaced and tightened the Spectra fuel pump with the lock ring tool, checked all connections, etc., and reset the computer. After a short test drive with several on/off cycles the check engine light returned with a "fuel pressure regulator performance" message. The fuel pressure sensor was previously replaced a week ago.
Anders, you had mentioned in a previous post (on 3/13/19) that resetting fuel adaptations is recommended, as the car might be holding on to fuel settings from the old pump (the old pump was replaced only for the reason to correct a bad fuel sender). If fuel adaptations need resetting, would the check engine light initially stay off, then return as I described above? I'm assuming a Tech2 is required to reset fuel settings-this shop does not have one.
Thank you again for your advice!
