Radiator drain petcock issue.....2006 Convertible 2.0, recently Posted by saabniner [Email] (#617) [Profile/Gallery] (more from saabniner) on Sun, 2 Jun 2019 13:15:12 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
acquired with 74K miles, the engine temp has always been SLOW to reach normal temp, takes about 10 minutes or so w/outside temp in the 80's (my 9-5 reaches normal temp in 1-2 minutes), decided to R&R the thermostat as well as the coolant since the history of the car is unknown, and a recent auto transmission fluid change showed it was probably the original. Opening the radiator petcock seemed normal getting about 5 L of fluid, but when it came time to close it I was not able to close it completely with numerous attempts and it kept dripping coolant. Unfortunately the tab on the petcock broke off. I have a new one of order from eEurope Parts, but how do I remove the old broken one without damaging the radiator? Anybody know of a successful way to do this? Thanks in advance.
