Wiper Positioning After Wiper Linkage Replacement Posted by Aero51 [Email] (#2716) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Aero51) on Sat, 17 Aug 2019 08:26:14 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I've just replace the windshield wiper transmission on my '09 Aero convertible. The job wasn't too bad with the help of the WIS instructions and an $11 wiper arm puller from Pep Boys. However, after following the WIS instructions to place the wiper arm with 45mm between the wiper/arm joint and the plastic cover at the bottom of the ws, the wiper went down too far and in fact pulled the blade from it's bracket. I had only installed the driver's side for testing. I had cycled the wipers on and off before this, as the WIS advised. So I'm unsure of how to position the arms now; trial and error doesn't seem too practical. Does anyone have any suggestion for this? I thought about using a blue tape tab on the bare spindle to get a position once the mechanism parks, but not sure what after that. Thanks in advance, Steve
