Without making any mods, the 9-3SS base system can be tweaked in a way I usually don't like. I'd normally tell you you were crazy if you like your base and treble on your stereo tweaked, but I actually think it sounds better on a 9-3SS that way. Crank the base and treble all the way up, it must be too bright in the midrange.

Also go to the menu and set your start volume at the maximum value of 20. Somebody said that increases the "gain" of the amp, I dunno', but I think that helps too.
