Ian, I am assuming Saab is recalling your ECU and not Abbott. I have heard that Abbott is aware of the problem with the Saab's ECU and should have no problem in recieving the new one for reflashing.
I just had the same thing done to my Aero that was upgraded by Nordic. I contacted Rolf and he had no problem with it. It cost US$80 to ship and I assume that it cost similar to return it. Performance is not inexpensive but that is the price we pay.
Norm - whose ECU probably did not make it back to Saab after the technicians found out it was reflashed. :)
