I'll start by saying I love the car. Its v e r y fast and handles great. brakes are great. traction control works great as i we just had a snowstorm nad i "tested it" by trying to spin the front wheels on ice and slush. I have had it just one week and have done over 1000 miles. My 1996 900Se had over 120K miles on it. I drive way too much.
1. Armrest is not high enough. I still have to lean over to my left while talking on the cell phone. (YES I KNOW I shouldnt talk and drive)...I am getting a handsfree system installed soon! 900SE armrest not even worth talking about.
2. No place to put loose change. In the 900Se I could put it in the ashtray or coin holder in armest. Wagon has no ashtray nor coin holder.
3. Should be two cupholders readily availble not just one. I had been getting used to my wifes car where she has two very secure holders. Yes I do know there is another one on the center armrest but I use that for storage. 900Se had no good ones so comparison is not fair here.. I am also concerned about spillage in the "pop down" one. We'll see.
4. Interior lights - As compared to my 1996 900Se I could turn on just the rear interior light and check in on my toddler through rear view mirror. With the wagon I have to turn on the entire interior lights ,both front and rear)
5. Rear View Mirror - I like the older design better as far as the manual "quick lever" adjustment for nighttme driving. I assume most people dont ever use this feature for the night time driving. I used it to see both my toddler in the rear while being able to see cars behind me. Wagon their is no "quick lever" adjustment.
5. Locking system. I know it can be reprogrammed but the way it came is a real pain. My 900Se was able to lock/unlock all doors by pushing down/up on the drivers side door lock. Wagon does not. Only does drivers door. also the interior lock/unlock button on console only does drivers side with one push. Need two pushes for entire car,but both pushes have to be timed right otherwise your pushing all day while the wife looks at you like she will kill you because its freezing out and she has a screaming toddler and i cant figure out how to open all the doors.. (Just had a flashback of the weekend while describing it) Nevertheless........Still not used to it.
6. Key is much better in the wagon. small, compact, ect.
Like I said I know they are small little gripes but I do sooo much driving that it becomes an extension of me.
Love the car!
