I can echo Bryce's comments:
1) SE vs. Aero - Aero is tighter, much faster. Haven't driven Aero w/ autobox because I prefer manual tranny. Body differences are subtle but IMHO worth doing, engine power is prodigious, close to my stock Audi S4 and a much lighter car. I don't think the Aero gives much comfort away to the SE.
2) I couldn't live without the ventilated seats in N.C. summer, but they can be a bit loud. Heated seats are wonderful even in our short winter. Haven't used Onstar yet. I prefer the stock "Klingon" 3-spoke wheels, they're so "Saab" and wouldn't want to pay extra for the BBS. New grey colour is gorgeous, silver is nice, but black despite the pain-in-the-ass to keep clean factor, is the sweetest looker IMHO.
3) Snow tires - don't need them in N.C.
4) Buying process - Push them hard on price. Saab is trying to build its customer base. Saab is also propping up good lease rates.
5) Don't have my final purchase price handy and am not familiar with Edmunds.
*) My dealer is proving incompetent with paperwork, parts ordering, and shoddy loaners. I may go down the road for service after today, maybe I'll give them one more chance. One expects more competence from dealers of this high-line and wonderful a car, most volume multi-marque dealers treat Saab as Julie puts it as "a red-headed stepchild"
Good luck!
David
