I agree with Willem. The 9-5 is fine on 15" wheels and tires. I drove with 15" 195, 65 Michelin Arctic Alpin tires last winter and my 9-5 handled fine. It was also quieter and smoother riding.

Base 9-5's have 15" wheels in Europe. 9-5 cop cars are equippped with 15" tires. It is very common. Americans always expect their cars to have alloy wheels and low profile tires. This is not the case in Europe where VW, Audi, BMW and Mercedes often come with smaller 15" steel wheels and hub caps. Cost is one reason and so is ride quality. A 15" tire will be smoother and get better fuel mileage as it is narrower and lighter. And, Europeans can buy base models of nice cars (like the 9-5 or BMW 5 series) without having to buy every single luxury item or upgrade.

Do not worry about the 15" tires. Even the owners manual lists those as the correct witner tire.
