Read the reviews on Tire Rack about the Primacys. I looked at those as replacements for the OEM Michelin Energy MXV4s that were at 3/32 after less than 30K. I just bought tires yesterday and Primacys were on the list along with Bridgestone Serenities. After reading Tire Rack's reports, I was going to go with the Bridgestones but my tire guy said I wouldn't see the mileage I wanted out of either model (40-50K) because 75% of the mileage the car gets is local driving, not highway. He said I would only see about 30-35K on either the Primacy or Serenities. And he sells both.
He steered me, believe it or not, to Uniroyal Tiger Paw Touring (H rated), which he said I'll see 40K+ out of. Got 'em for $528 including mounting, balance, stems, road hazard, old tire disposal, free rotation. Plus they have enough siping to handle some early snow or ice before I put on winter tires. Have only driven them a few miles but they seem fine. Time will tell, or course, but Uniroyal is owned by Michelin, so I think they'll be OK.
