I have been sending several e-mails back and forth to a Saab owner trying to help them diagnose and repair a fault code and check engine light that made it impossible for them to pass smog. The tail pipe emission was fine but check engine light was on.
It has taken some of my time to do this but we could not solve it over the internet.
They brought the car down on Saturday and after checking the fault code, test driving the car and the lifting the hood, I instantly heard a hissing noise that shouldn't be there.
Found a broken vacuum hose between EVAP valve and throttle body and now the car seems to be fixed.
That's how easy it can be.
So did the two old codes get exchanged for these two new ones or do you have 4 fault codes by now?
And if so, how do you know that the new (or old) scan tool is deciphering the codes properly.
