The last time I changed the filter on my '03 (about two months ago), I didn't install the foam strip just to see if that helped with the smell. The musty smell is still awful (my drain lines are clear). This is just an awful design period.
On my '07, oddly enough I don't have the problem yet, but the car only has 32k miles. My '03 has 65k miles and is on it's 4th filter already.
It's simply unacceptable to have a constant musty smell on a $40,000 car. One of the many things I'm hoping Spyker fixes....
