I know it's tempting just to disconnect it (there are plenty of posts on the board on how to get to it and remove it), but then you'll have to live with "Service Alarm" alerts on your SID every time you start the car. Or you can pay someone good money to disable it with a Tech II, if you can find them. But I just got mine repaired by ASI in Kentucky and I'm very pleased. They replaced the batteries, gave me a phone call to confirm the repair and their ship date, and even paid for the return shipping...all for $45! With a warranty. I don't know about you, but here in California I can't even fill the gas tank on my '02 Aero for that. Nice. Find them on Ebay.
