You'll need to remove the ACC unit, which means also removing the radio so you can push out the ACC unit. If you have a really wide trim removal tool, you might get by without removing the radio. Push the seat heater/ventilator switches out and disconnect them.
Then, you have to remove the little cubby or ashtray that's below the seat heater switches. Once that's removed, remove the two screws that you'll see (T-25 driver).
Finally, you need to remove the shift boot (if it's a manual) or the trim ring (if it's an auto) from the area around the shifter. I'm not sure how the boot comes off, but the trim ring just pulls up. You need to get something WIDE under it or you'll mar the surface.
After the boot or ring is out, you can remove the trim piece that surrounds the shifter and holds the lighter and switches. You'll be tempted to try and push it from behind where the switches are. Don't do it. take your WIDE trim tool, and wedge it between the rearmost portion of the wood (or aluminum, carbon, whatever you've got) trim piece and the bit of console that is behind it. It won't take a lot of movement, but move the wood forward, and lift the back up. Then the whole thing can be removed. You'll need to disconnect any switches on it, and the lighter socket.
BTW - if you figure out how to remove the lighter without destroying the wood trim, let me know!
