I recent my SID near the begining of winter and just recently noticed what great fuel economy the car is getting. With tempatures in the 20's F mine 9-5 Aero over 26 MPG averaging 40 MPH for 1600 miles. Which is pretty good and should expect better when the weather warms.
I have a manual transmission and travel 50 miles daily with about 20% of it with speeds of 40 MPH or less with no traffic jams. Highway speeds are 70 MPH. My terrain, unlike Coolnight's, is relavtively flat. Elevation is about 500-800 feet.
I have averaged 74 MPH with 24 MPG when new on a 2000 mile trip to Florida. On a recent trip to the Saab Owner's Convention(~800 miles) we averaged 30 MPG(heading east: slight tail wind) and 71 MPH. This was with the AC on. Steve Goldenberger in his '97 9000 with automatic transmission(25,000 miles) averaged 32 MPG. I was quite shocked as we reset our SID at the same time when he mentioned that he did not have his AC on but did turn it on later when he said he could not hold out any longer. I closed the gap to one MPH. :)
