When you say "sticks at shift points", do you mean that it doesn't upshift when in "D"? You then change to "M" (or whatever) and the paddles don't work and it stays stuck in that gear?
Doesn't sound like a NSS, but as far as what I know (for helping you), anything is possible.
I might (strictly) guess that the TCS is causing the problem, maybe wheel sensor(s) or yaw sensor(s)? The ABS light doesn't also come on?
You can turn TCS on/off, right? If you leave OFF, still get this problem?
