WRG2 as dedicated winter tire?

Missed out on getting new winter tires last year for dedicated 16" rims - snooze/lose for '07 SC Aero.
Dealer has a good deal on Nokian WRG2's (perhaps because WRG3's are out?) and recommends them. If I had one set of tires, this is a no brainer, but with the 2nd set of wheels, am thinking a more dedicated winter tire might be a better choice for northern CT winter.
Also considering offerings from Conti and General along with new this year tires from Pirelli (Sottozero 3) and Dunlop (Winter Maxx).
Am interested to hear thoughts on winter vs "all weather" WRG2.
