pixelfix SID2 repair success

Just wanted to share my experience with a replacement ribbon cable from pixelfix.net.
Contrary to what appears in the 2 minute video on youtube.com, the cable I received had NO adhesive whatsoever. I used scotch tape to hold it in the right place. The SID is designed to assemble so that tension is applied to the contacts on both the main printed circuit board and the LCD screen connector plate. I used the included foam adhesive strips (which go over the ribbon contacts), and the existing rubber band in the SID around the LCD screen. The screen wouldn't snap back into the retaining clips because of the thickness of the foam strip, but it all assembled fine and the screen is flush to the SID case. BTW, I used a razor blade to gently remove the old adhesive from the circuit board and the LCD screen connector plate.
Although the new ribbon cable is not held in place with any adhesive, the repair was a success!
