You may want to research POR-15. Opting out of the cleaner is probably ok but I have used their 3 step process on the rock rails on a Rubicon with my son and it's a good product. You can order a spray can of your Saab color from many auto parts stores to complete the final coat. It's also important o use a thick product sprayed behind like corrosion free or green Rust Check to impair moisture penetration from behind. It;s that time of year in the Northern US and Canada to insert the red straw of your favourite corrosion inhibitor and spray the inside surfaces of the quarter panels in front of, over and hehind each wheel. Wax these areas thoroughly on the other side. Taking off the inner liners is the better way to go but I don't have the time so compromise.
