2008 SC auto, decided to replace the passenger side whole axle assembly rather than mess with an outer boot kit. However the new aftermarket (the Saab OE axle was on significant back-order ) assembly from eEuroparts arrived with it complete only from the outer CV joint to the inner boot and tripod bearings-no flange (cup) or splined shaft end that fits into the transmission. As the inner CV assembly is assumed to be okay with no vibration or visible leaks I wasn't too alarmed but since this is my first axle replacement my question is: is it as simple as once the axle is free of the front suspension/brake assembly do I cut the inner boot and the tripod end will pull straight out, or what else can I expect to do? Otherwise the axle replacement seems to be straight forward....maybe.
