I picked up an '04 9-5 Aero about 13 months ago with 50,000 some odd miles in Reading PA for $ 5,700. It has 71,000 miles on it now and just did a thous over the weekend - absolutely perfect.
Make sure the belt has been replaced - 12 years on one of these belts is a lot IMO.
The antenna mast thingie will be rotted away. Budget for a fresh one of those. If the Ignition Cassette has not been replaced you will need one ASAP.
I'm getting a sporadic malfunction vis a vis the throttle position and have replaced the CPS and throttle body and a lot of other things, keeping the old ones as spares for one of my 3 other 9-5s. The malfunction is occuring pretty rarely now but it means I and not my girlfriend drive this one. Your decision to buy this car must rely very heavily on your ability to do your own work. I can see the previous owners threw down thousands of dollars and I bet it all related back to this one mystery issue. Was their money well spent?
