Agree with the 10K miles remaining until wear bars Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Tue, 25 Oct 2016 14:08:25 In Reply to: Re: Tire Time, Snowmobile [Profile/Gallery] , Tue, 25 Oct 2016 13:31:43 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
40K miles of wear with 4-5mm tread depth remaining. Running to the wear bars at 2-3mm probably yield another 10-12K miles of use.
And also agree that 4-5mm tread depth remaining is when to start looking for new tires.
Even with their low tread depth these DWS tires don't hydroplane. Also why I went with DW tires on my Viggen rather than some of the other summer performance offerings. Although I try not to drive the convertible in the rain, horrific downpours do pop up during the summer months with little warning. I wanted a tire that had the groove depth to displace these rains.
When I was in the tire store early yesterday morning (apparently I blew dirt into the valve stem of one tire on my 9-5 when inflating all tires on all cars Sunday and it went 100% flat over-night), I asked about upcoming sales. They told me the next big deals will be offered on Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Tires? On Holiday Sales Days? With so many people running AS tires year round there may be sales on tires that appeal to me.
