General is the more budget oriented brand for Continental (Continental bought GT up decades ago).

If you are considering the AS03, I would look at the Bridgestone RE970 also. I went with AS03 on my c900 because RE970's were not available for my wheel size (16" and not super wide), otherwise I would have got RE970's but I like the AS03 so far also (not too many miles on them yet). c900 and 9-5 are different cars though. I would for sure consider putting AS03 on the 9-5 though. Many favourable comments here in the past re the Bridgestones on the 9-5 (eg Noel runs them iirc). Both are directional and performance oriented (sticky, softer rubber, just not as much as the PSS), so may not be quite what you are looking for if you want more tread life.
