A thought. Recently you posted about your lock cylinder not locking, and also not popping up consistently. What's the status of that issue?
It strikes me (and I may be all wet here) that some circuitry in the car is active when the cylinder is depressed (definitely) and probably when the key is not fully off. If your ignition switch is not completely shutting the car down, its very likely that you will have some current draw. Depending on the overall state of your battery, that draw could be enough to drain the battery as you've described.
The fact that your diagnosis point to fuse 17, which feels like a lot of things that the key on/key off powers (at least in my recollection), I think the two may be related.
