Years ago on another vehicle:
Installed the MC.
Fitted the brake lines loose so they would leak.
Filled reservoir, with rags below the MC, pumped fluid and air out of MC.
Tightened the brake lines and cleaned up.
Also, you can then jack up the vehicle and remove the wheels. Force caliper pistons back forcing fluid back to reservoir with air. Remove fluid from reservoir as needed to prevent overflow. Then remove all possible fluid from reservoir, add new fluid, pump the caliper pistons out and adjust fluid level.
When renewing brake fluid, push all possible fluid back to the reservoir and remove before pushing clean fluid to the calipers. All contamination in these vented [cursing] systems is from moisture and its the worst at the MC, so this should not be pushed through the system. I replace fluid at the reservoir often to remove the bulk of moisture contaminated fluid. The color of the fluid in the reservoir is your clue.
Warning: Unless MC is newer, never push brake petal to the floor when doing bleeding type work as rust blooms on MC walls will cut the MC cup seals. I place a piece of 2x4 behind the brake petal - do not forget to remove.
