I'm using the special Volvo tool 9997226 that they came out with a few years back when they started to have PCV problems.
It's more or less a hyper sensitive vacuum gauge so you could probably find a generic type instead.
Then I just have an adapter for the oil filler pipe when testing.
It's very rare that the Saab engines have PCV problems now when all the hoses and check valves are connected properly and if it is a lack of vacuum in crank case it is most likely due to worn piston rings and blow by.
