So my previous post was the intermittent starter issue (ongoing). Today with it 36 degrees outside, stuck in traffic, the oil light (pressure) came on. It was "on" at idle and goes off at about 800 RPM, according to the tachometer. So the oil had 4000 miles on it, vehicle has 136,810. Oil is Castrol Edge Extended 5w/30. NAPA Gold 1516 filter. The engine sounds fine. So tonight, without a garage, I changed the oil and filter. Put in Pennzoil Platinum 10w/30 and a Motorcraft FL-400A filter. Anyway, I bet it isn't easy to tap into the sending unit to check the actual oil pressure. IIRC, oil lights typically come on between 4 and 7 pounds.
This is my favorite car ever so I hope I don't have major issues here. Wondering if there's any known issues with the V6 that causes low oil pressure like a pressure relief valve, oil pump, etc.
