Haha alligator clamps and Crocodile clamps!
Today i learned that Alligators (and caimans) have a wide "U"-shaped, rounded snout (like a shovel), whereas crocodiles tend to have longer and more pointed "V"-shaped noses. which is hilarious because in my mind an alligator clamp is long and pointy like you said, but i never heard anyone say crocodile clamps. But from what i just found out is that we both got it backwards when naming clamps after reptiles. All in good fun.
