Polyurethane bushings grease Posted by Gene N [Email] (#1094) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Gene N) on Tue, 28 Feb 2017 05:42:47 In Reply to: Re: suspension and hub question, scotsglen [Profile/Gallery] , Mon, 27 Feb 2017 15:33:19 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I don't have polyurethane bushings on my 9-5, but I had them in both of my 9000T's (1990 and 1991). They did squeak after a while. The second time I took them apart to grease them, I cut three evenly spaced slots 1/8 of an inch deep on the inner part of the polyurethane bushing. I used a hack saw (or maybe it was a coping saw) to cut the slot. I packed the bushing with grease then put in the sleeve that the bolt goes through.
I don't remember how long it lasted, but it was the last time I had to do it on both cars.
